My approach to learning sign language is a mixture of learning the language, expanding on what you already know, practice by just having a conversation in sign language, introducing the student to the Deaf community and encourgaging the student to use the sign language they have learned by having a conversation with the Deaf population. I also teach the student about the Deaf community and the language, also the variety of the signs as one word has more than one meaning. As advanced as a student is, the more they will learn. |
