In order to achieve these results, I have an inter-active approach that is tailored to the individual student's learning needs. All languages share a common context that most human beings are able to understand. Learning vocabulary for example can be much easier if we learn words as part of meaningful sentences and not only in lists. For students who are already studying a languge formally, I do support a grammar based approach mixed with activities for listening comprehension and speaking development. For students who are simply interested in learning conversational language, perhaps for a vacation, I focus more on teaching common phrases and vocabulary that will make for a more enjoyable experience while visiting places where the target language is used.
