I ask students about their hobbies and favorite activities or subjects they are interested in. In then try to create programs/lessons that includes these subjects in order to make it easier for students to start with the new language.
Each student has different needs so I "design" a learning program for each one whether it is grammar, conversation, business-oriented vocabulary or test preparation.
